About the Founder

Richard Stone was born and raised right here in Denver. As a child, he was always looking for ways to help others any way he could. Upon graduating from Alameda High School in 2006, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as an Aviation Ordnance Technician until he was injured in 2016. Due to his injury, he was unable to perform his Ordnance duties and was moved into an Occupational Health and Safety job for Marine Aircraft Group 13 in Yuma, Arizona. Richard served as the Ground Safety Officer until his separation from service in February of 2020. In this role, he was responsible for all of the training, documentation, and generation of safety programs for more that 2,500 Marines. In February of 2021, Richard began his career with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a Compliance Officer, conducting investigations of workplace injuries and fatalities. In August 2025, Richard made the decision to leave OSHA and start 5280 Safety Solutions with the intent to be proactive and preventative in nature, keeping as many workers safe as he could.
